About the Council...

Incorporated in 1967, the Mohawk Valley Council on Alcoholism and Addictions, Inc. is a community resource agency that provides information and assistance on alcoholism, and drug and alcohol abuse. The Council strives to be the leader in the reduction and prevention of the occurrence of alcohol and other drug abuse through the dissemination of information. We offer free confidential information, assessment and referral counseling for individuals and their families who are experiencing difficulties with a wide variety of issues.

We maintain complete and current information on 12 step meeting groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Al-Anon, Co-dependent's Anonymous, ACOA groups, Narcotics Anonymous, Overeaters Anonymous and Gamblers Anonymous. All calls regarding client contact and meeting inquiries are confidential. The Council is a non-profit agency, funded by The New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services and is a participating member of the United Way of Greater Utica Area. In addition, the Council is an affiliate member of the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Inc. (NCADD) and a partner agency in the Dual Recovery Network Training Coalition of Oneida County.
