Each year, our Council presents its Amethyst Award to one or more individuals who have made significant contributions to the field of chemical dependency treatment and prevention.  We are seeking nominations for this year’s award.

Not only do these people deserve community recognition, the award helps spread the word about what is being done in our field.  Recent award recipients have included Linda Nelson, Oneida County Department of Mental Health, Patti Hirsch, MVCC, Rev. David Saunders, Ken Abramczyk, Oneida County Department of Mental Health, Becky Eisenhut, SPAN, Honorable Judge Griffith, Family Treatment Court, Bonnie Carr, Insight House, Denise Spagnola, Professional Counseling Center, and Upstate Cerebral Palsy Dual Recovery Network (Margaret Beck, Dana Petrillo, Marlene Davis, Heather Fisher & Kenan Radeljas).

This year’s Amethyst Award will be presented at our Alcohol Awareness Breakfast at the Radisson, April 6th.  Please submit nominations to us by January 29, 2010.
